How to Make an Ice Bowl

Place ice cubes over the bottom of a 2-1/2- or 3-qt. bowl. Center a 1-1/2- or 1-qt. bowl on top of the ice cubes. Weigh the smaller bowl down with ice cubes or a can of frozen juice. Place freezer tape across both bowls to hold them in place.

Use a wooden skewer to tuck fresh herbs, citrus slices or edible flowers between the ice cubes.

Pour cold water between the bowls until the water is about 2 in. from the bottom. Freeze. Add another inch of water and freeze. If desired, add or reposition herbs, citrus slices or flowers. Repeat until water is about 1/2 in. below bowl rim.

Remove tape from sides of bowls and ice cubes or juice can from smaller bowl. Fill smaller bowl with warm, not hot, water and let stand for 1-2 minutes. Carefully lift out of large bowl. Dip large bowl in warm, not hot, water. Remove from ice bowl. Use bowl immediately for shrimp, dips or fresh fruits.
