How to Core a Pear

To core a fresh pear from the bottom, insert an apple corer into the pear's bottom to within 1 in. of the top. Twist the corer to cut around the core, then slowly pull the corer out of the pear to remove the core. If you don't have a corer, use a sharp knife or vegetable peeler to cut the core from the bottom of the pear.
