Blanching Plums, Peaches or Nectarines

Place plums into covered saucepan of boiling water for 30-45 seconds or until the skin splits. Use tongs or a slotted spoon to remove the fruit.

Immediately place plums in an ice-water bath to cool fruit and stop the cooking process.

Use a pairing knife to easily peel the skin. If stubborn areas of skin won't peel off, return fruit to boiling water for a few more seconds.
