Slow Cooker Steaks

My husband and I take advantage of sales at the grocery store by buying in large quantities. We purchase cube steaks, flour and fry them, then freeze on a waxed paper-lined baking sheet. When they’re frozen, we transfer them to a heavy-duty resealable plastic bag. Before work, I put a few thawed steaks in the slow cooker, along with cream of mushroom soup, prepared brown gravy and a dash of browning sauce. When I get home, I warm up leftover mashed potatoes, cook green beans and have dinner ready in no time. —Nancy Mckee, The Plains, Ohio
