Family Easter Traditions

When I was a youngster, we celebrated Easter by "eppering". These were contests to see who had the hardest egg. To play, you cupped your egg in your fist so that only a small portion of each end was showing. Your opponent would tap it with his egg, trying to crack yours. Then you got a chance to tap your opponent's egg. If you cracked your opponent's egg at both ends, you got to keep it. —Robert Braker, Boynton Beach, Florida
