Refrigerating or Freezing Cookie Dough

Most cookie doughs may be refrigerated or frozen, then baked later. When placed in airtight wrapping, unbaked cookie doughs can be refrigerated for a week or frozen for up to 3 months.

We like to freeze cookie dough by dropping tablespoons onto baking sheets. Cover and freeze until firm. When the dough is frozen, transfer the dough balls into resealable plastic freezer bags, making sure to squeeze excess air out of the bags.

To use frozen cookie dough: Place dough balls 2 in. apart on greased or ungreased baking sheets. Bake as the recipe directs, until the cookies are lightly browned.
