Lunch Box Snacks

Since I have two preschoolers and infant twins who take a lot of time, I came up with a way to expedite the lunch-making process. At the beginning of the week, I portion raisins, cookies, crackers, carrot sticks, orange slices and other snacks into snack-size plastic bags. I keep them in a container on the counter or in the fridge. When it comes time to pack daily lunches for the preschoolers, I just grab whatever snacks they need, add a sandwich and I’m done. Not only does this save time, but it saves money because I’m not buying a lot of expensive packaged treats. —Kathy Lewis, Warwick, Rhode Island
