I love shrimp and always have frozen cooked shrimp on hand. However, many recipes list uncooked shrimp as the main ingredient. Can thawed or frozen shrimp be added instead if I adjust the cooking time? —C.H., Freedom, Indiana
Generally speaking, yes. Not knowing your recipes, I would recommend that you thaw the cooked shrimp, then add it at the end of the recipe's cooking time and heat through. I don't recommend frozen shrimp because the other ingredients might become overcooked before the shrimp is thawed and heated through.
