I freeze a lot of blueberries, but it seems that most recipes call for fresh. What can I do with all those frozen berries? —S.G., Lucedale, Mississippi
Frozen blueberries are perfect for many baked items. They are especially nice in pancakes, muffins, pies, cobblers, coffee cakes, tea breads and many other baked desserts. Because frozen blueberries give off more juice than fresh berries, be sure to reduce the liquid and increase the thickener when you use them in desserts such as pies, tarts or cobblers. For best results, do not defrost frozen blueberries before adding them to pancakes, muffins and other baked items.
