"I am a freelance writer, an artist and an avid gardener. My husband, Ed, and I are active in our church and sing in the choir. We have been married 53 years, and have two grown daughters and four grandchildren.
"I love preparing traditional American food as well as American versions of Chinese and Italian. A few years ago, I edited a church cookbook. I've had several recipes appear in newspapers and magazines, and once won $100 in a magazine contest.
