The Taste of Home editors read through dozens of recipes each week, looking for just the right recipes to publish in our magazines and cookbooks, and we'd like to share some insider tips on how to make your recipes quickly rise to the top.

Family Favorite Pizza

  • 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 1 prebaked Italian bread shell crust
  • 1 can (14-1/2 ounces) Italian diced tomatoes, drained
  • 12 frozen fully cooked meatballs (1/2 ounce each, thawed and halved)
  • 1-1/2 cups shredded Italian cheese blend

Spoon tomato sauce over bread shell crust. Top with tomatoes, meatballs and cheese. Place on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 450º for 10-12 minutes or until cheese is melted.

Family Favorite Pizza

  • 1/2 pound Italian sausage
  • 1 can (8 ounces) pizza sauce
  • 1 prebaked Italian bread shell crust
  • 1-1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

In a small skillet, cook sausage until no longer pink; drain. Spoon sauce over bread shell crust. Top with sausage and cheese. Place on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 450º for 10-12 minutes or until cheese is melted.
