Bread Pudding

Bread pudding is a comfort food for many home cooks. It features bread that’s been soaked (often overnight), mixed with other ingredients and baked. The variations shared here include some bread puddings served with sauces, made in slow cookers and cut down to serve two.

"This down-home Cranberry Bread Pudding takes on a touch of elegance when I serve it warm and drizzled with a thin orange custard sauce," relates Margery Richmond of Fort Collins, Colorado. "It’s so pretty that I often make it for dinner guests using either fresh or frozen cranberries."

White Chocolate Bread Pudding is a delectable dessert featuring vanilla chips, apples and a sweet caramel sauce. "It’s a favorite with our boys," shares Wendy Sleicher from Quakertown, Pennsylvania.

Romaine Wetzel of Lancaster, Pennsylvania made a few changes to a recipe she found, and Bread Pudding for Two has since become a favorite dessert. "I like to eat mine warm with a dollop of whipped cream…but my husband eats his cold with a scoop of ice cream!" she adds.

Traditional bread pudding gets a new light twist in Peanut Butter Bread Pudding from Sharon Paddock of Wauchula, Florida. "With both chocolate chips and peanut butter, this deliciously different bread pudding does not taste light," she assures. "And it’s so comforting!"

Sweet raisins and a smooth hot lemon sauce make Lemon Bread Pudding extra special. "Even today, I get requests for the recipe from people who tasted this traditional dessert years ago," says Mildred Sherrer of Fort Worth, Texas.
