Snowman Doughnuts

If you want to save a little time, you can take a single ring doughnut and just make a snowman face instead of the entire body. Stick a piece of candy corn (or another orange candy, like an orange M&M) in the hole to serve as the nose, and use mini chocolate chips for the eyes and mouth. You can also make flat doughnut snowmen (instead of tall snowmen like we did) by laying three doughnuts down flat and connecting them with wooden skewers, decorated in the same way.

No matter how you assemble the snowmen, keep their hands warm by adding gumdrops to the ends of the pretzels to look like mittens. Make a top hat by attaching the mini Reese's peanut butter cup to something a bit wider and thinner, such as a Thin Mint. Feel free to use icing for the eyes and mouth if that's what you have on hand. If you want to mix it up, use M&Ms for the buttons instead of additional chocolate chips.

Snowman doughnuts would make a perfectly festive addition to a hot chocolate board or a sweet, wintery brunch spread after the first snow of the year. You could also serve them with a few other snowman-shaped desserts for holiday parties where kids will be in attendance. Finally, if your kids go outside to build their own snowman, these snowman doughnuts would be a perfectly on-theme treat for them to come inside to once they're done—with a mug of hot chocolate, of course!
