1 pound Italian sausage links 1 pound pork shoulder 2 pounds ground beef 2 medium onions, chopped 1 large green pepper, chopped 1 tablespoon minced garlic 1 can (29 ounces) tomato puree 1 can (28 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained 1 cup beef broth 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced 2 tablespoons brown sugar 1 tablespoon cider vinegar 2 teaspoons chili powder 2 teaspoons ground cumin 1 to 2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes 1 teaspoon dried basil 1 teaspoon dried oregano 1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce 2 cans (16 ounces each) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
