I feel blessed to have the opportunity to bake this for the special ladies at the local homeless shelter. Try it with Honeycrisp apples, Golden Delicious or a blend of the two apple types. —Char Morse, Whitehall, Michigan

If you can't make apple pie, try this recipe, it's quick and easy and tastes like the best apple pie you ever tried.

I pulled it from the oven a scoch early so I could reheat it later to serve, it was perfectly moist and raved about by all. I topped with vanilla icecream. Thumbs up!

I made this for our Christmas day dessert, and we loved it! We did NOT find it to be dry. I used the recommended amount of apples (Golden Delicious), and they created a yummy juice just like in apple pie. I love the addition of the bottom crust -- that makes it extra-special. And I served it warm with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce -- it was decadent! I'm definitely making this one again!

I served this for dessert on Christmas day, and we loved it! We did NOT find it to be too dry. I used the amount of apples called for, and they made a deliciously rich sauce, just like in an apple pie. The bottom crust is a real tasty addition to the average apple crisp recipe. We enjoyed it warm with ice cream and caramel topping, and it was decadent! Definitely making this one again!

This was so good! I used more butter than it called for and I also used canned apple pie filling. It turned out great with whipped topping on top. We loved the bottom crust-

I would agree with the last review. It was very dry. The only thing that saved it was heating each serving in the microwave.

this was VERY dry, and i followed the directions... i would use a lot less flour in the filling next time, maybe 1/4 cup.
