"This is a wonderful sandwich for family meals or parties," writes Sue Ann O'Buck of Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania. Once the meat is browned, the mixture simmers for just 10 minutes, so it's perfect for spur-of-the-moment backyard picnics.

Tip

Quick Homemade Croutons

I hate to waste the heel from a loaf of bread or a few leftover hot dog or hamburger buns. So I cube them into a bowl, spray them with nonstick cooking spray and season with garlic powder, parsley and basil or oregano. Then I bake them on a cookie sheet at 250° until they’re crisp and brown. My family loves the quick homemade croutons. —Nancy C., Windermere, Florida

I've never liked Sloppy Joes, but this recipe has changed my mind! Pretty healthy, super fast, and yummy! I did find it a little dry, so I make 1.5 times the amount of sauce.

This is one of my familys' favorites. I always use extra lean (99% lean) ground turkey as I think it tastes much better. I make four or five batches of this and freeze the extra in quart-size freezer bags. Not only is this good on buns but it's good over a lettuce salad.

I always add my own homemade BBQ Sauce
