It was on a visit to my husband's relatives in Belgium that I was given this recipe. Back in the U.S., I served the waffles to his Belgian-born grandmother. She said they tasted just like home. Our grandkids love these waffles with any kind of topping: blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, fried apples, powdered sugar or whipped topping. —Rose Delemeester, St. Charles, Michigan

The only thing we did differently was split the recipe in half, and we weren't a fan. We usually just use Bisquick, but we're out. I'll be trying a different recipe next time. This seemed too cakey? I don't know the right term, but my husband and I would have rather just used Bisquick I think. Always fun to try new recipes though. Thanks

My husband loves belgian waffles so he just got a belgian waffle maker for his birthday. This is the recipe we tried and we don't need to try any others! Delicious!! I forgot to heat the milk as others suggested but I will next time. Excellent recipe!!

This recipe made the waffles flaky and were the perfect thickness. I added a peachy sweetness to it by blending: teaspoon of cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg, a teaspoon of vanilla extract, 1/2 cup of heavy whipping cream, brown sugar and white sugar. Once all the ingredients were mixed, I added that wonderful blend and we didn't even need syrup. My boyfriend loved the entire recipe. Thanks for sharing such a great waffle recipe!

Same thing as another person mentioned, the recipe should call for heating up the milk so the butter doesn't re-solidify. You can't leave out those details.
This recipe is way too sweet. The waffles taste like a cookie. I prefer it less sweet because the toppings always make it sweeter.

These were delicious and filled the kitchen with the best aroma ever of home made waffles. I'm used to making waffles from a box but these were pretty easy to whip together. The batter, mine atleast, was a bit thicker than i expected but i went with it because it looked and smelled delicious. I mixed in two tbsp of milk in the last half of the batter for anyone who preferred fluffier waffles. I recommend doubling the recipe to get more full formed waffles out of your waffle iron (most of mine came short).
