It was on a visit to my husband's relatives in Belgium that I was given this recipe. Back in the U.S., I served the waffles to his Belgian-born grandmother. She said they tasted just like home. Our grandkids love these waffles with any kind of topping: blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, fried apples, powdered sugar or whipped topping. —Rose Delemeester, St. Charles, Michigan

This is a wonderful recipe. Everyone in the family loved them. I served them with sliced kiwi, sliced apples cooked with cinnamon and a little sugar and black raspberries sliced with a little honey. Also had a little maple syrup with the chill taken out. Awesome!

WOW, these were fantastic waffles, crispy on the outside-incredibly light & fluffy inside! No need for syrup. Yield was exactly according to recipe-not even one teaspoon leftover waste. Family devoured each one straight from the iron. Will definitely make this again. YUMMMMMM!!!

Would I make this recipe again? I already have! I bought my first waffle iron two years and spent those two years looking for the perfect waffle recipe. This is it. Previous recipes came out too heavy, too chewy, too spongy. These were delightfully crispy on the outside and light and fluffy inside. Success!
