True Belgian Waffles Recipe

True Belgian Waffles RecipePhoto by: Taste of Home True Belgian Waffles Recipe Rating 5

Meet the Cook: It was on a visit to my husband's relatives in Belgium that I was given this recipe. Back in the U.S., I served the waffles to his Belgian-born grandmother. She said they tasted just like home. Larry and I have four children, all married, four grandchildren and two on the way. The grandkids loves these waffles almost anytime with about any kind of topping - blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, fried apples, powdered sugar or whipped topping. -Rose Delemeester, St. Charles, Michigan

These waffles are delicious! They are so good they don't need syrup or butter.

The best waffles I ever ate and easy to make.

My kids and their friends loved them. Great taste, fluffy texture, and simple preparation. Great with several toppings. Added some chopped pecans to a couple for a little crunch. Very tasty!

Very good- I substitute 1 cup pumpkin for 1/2 c of butter and use half white/half wheat flour to make it a little healthier

I'm sure this is user error, but when i added the milk to the melted butter, the butter resolidified! Should the milk be room temperature first?

These were a hit with my entire family, including my dad who's a bit of a snob when it comes to food. This recipe went right into the family cookbook.
