This cookie was awesome!! My husband says it's his "new" favorite cookie. I did change it up a little bit though. Instead of 2 tsp. vanilla, I did 1 tsp. vanilla and 1 tsp. peppermint extract.(amazing!) And instead of using both semi-sweet choc. and 60% bittersweet choc., I only used semi-sweet. I also didn't do the frosting. I melted white choc. and drizzled it all over the top then sprinkled with crushed up candy canes!! This is a definite keeper and new Christmas cookie tradition!

This is my new favorite recipe for the season. Very refreshing and christmas-y with the candy cane topping.

I didn't have the white baking chips for the frosting and just made it without and it turned out just fine. I just added a bit more powdered sugar so it wasn't so thin.

A VERY TASTY COOKIE!

Loved these cookies...I did some with just green sprinkles and some with candycanes and they looked pretty on plate for giving as gift!!

Lots of chocolate flavor but worry about having icing with cream cheese--would this need refridgerated? Kinda hard to give as cookie gift if so.

I just finished baking seven different kinds of Christmas cookies and these were by far the very best ones. The sweetness of the frosting balances beautifully with the subtle bittersweet taste of the chocolate. This is a very elegant and lovely addition to my Christmas cookie repertoire. No wonder it's a contest winning recipe!!

So good! Chocolate and cream cheese-peppermint frosting make for an excellent combination. Also used the frosting on a mocha cookie, which was also really good - tasted like a drink from Starbucks!

They are very good - my daughter and I made them. We had a lot of trouble with the frosting though. I had to add a little milk to mixture to get it smooth and spreadable. Other than that, they were easy to make. Will make again.
