This terrific treat is included in a book of good-but-easy recipes my sister compiled as a wedding present for me. She refers to them as "money-back guarantee" brownies. And I can confirm that they turn out 100% of the time.

Tip

Substitute for Nuts

If your family loves the crunch of nuts in brownies and chocolate chip cookies, but someone is allergic to them, add granola or crisp rice cereal in the same amounts as the nuts called for in your recipes. But, always check the granola or cereal packages for nut allergy alerts to be certain.

The icing was not tasting like coffee , I would definetely make it again and try more coffee on the icing! Fudgy and good!

These were just okay to me. Regular brownies with icing which in my opinion do not need the extra sweetness from the icing. It was just too much.

These brownies are absolutely delicious. I made them for a Christmas potluck at work and received rave reviews from my colleagues. It is definitely a keeper.

The frosting on these brownies are simply yummy. I made these for my church bazaar, and now I have to make them for myself.
