Every time I serve this creamy chicken casserole, it gets rave reviews. The recipe was passed down to me and is so good! It's really easy to make, freezes well and has just a touch of heat. If your family likes more, add some jalapenos! —Kendra Doss, Smithville, Missouri

My 3 year old inhaled this! It was a little tedious, but ultimately easy. I shredded the chicken instead and it was equally delicious! I also only put it in the oven for 20 minutes, which kept the tortillas from getting soggy. I will make it again and again. Thanks so much!

I prepared this recipe tonight and it was a huge hit. DH said it was a keeper. It is a very easy recipe to prepare and is very tasty. I used the mild Rotel tomatoes instead of the hotter original Rotel. We loved this dish and I will definitely fix this again.

I sure did enjoy this casserole. I didn't have canned soups so I just added 1 c each of milk and broth with 1/3 c of flour. I had on hand only canned tomatoes so that's what I added. Reduced the chili powder. It was perfect for us. Probably not as creamy. I just wrote this review to let others know that you can still make this casserole even if you don't have canned soup

Delicious!! A big hit with the family.

This recipe had good flavor. I ate it over a bed of rice. I think next time I'll try without the corn tortillas.

Very poor flavor to this, too much chili powder. Dull.

My hubby who doesn't really like casseroles really enjoyed this, perfect with a big salad!

I have made this twice. I know that this is supposed to be a healthy recipe with the reduced-fat soups and cheese. The first time I made it I had the full-fat soups on hand, so I used those. The second time i bought the reduced-fat versions. We like it much better with the full-fat versions, it was much creamier. No leftovers the first time. Lots left the second. If I make it again I will make the full-fat version.

I halved the recipe and used only one can of soup, half can of the tomatoes with green chilis and only 1-1/2 tsp chili powder. That was plenty of heat for us.Very good dinner.

This is a great recipe. I made it according to the recipe and it was a big hit. It's one of my favorite dishes. Easy to tone up or tone down the heat with the green chilis. Will definitely be making this one again.

This is amazing! It's the first time in a long time that my whole family raved about a casserole. I used full fat cheddar jack cheese. We liked it so much it's going in our special recipe book for making & sharing!!

I'm sorry, but this is only the second time in 15 years that a TOH recipe just didn't quite do it for me. I made the recipe as is, except I did use full fat cheddar cheese which is what I had on hand. The flavor of the casserole itself wasn't bad, but not great. I topped it with salsa and fat-free plain yogurt and it was better. But, I'm sorry...I'm not jumping up and down on this one, and there's a lot of casserole left to eat.

Mushroom soup instead of Cream of Celery
I make something very similar to this. I use mushroom soup. Tear the tortillas into pieces and just mix it all together. I save a little cheese out to sprinkle on top. My boyfriend isn't big on casseroles but loves this. We had it New Years Eve.

This recipe turned out great! The only change I made was that I used flour tortillas, because I'm not the biggest fan of corn tortillas. I was a little worried that the dish would turn out too mushy because of that, but it worked out fine. I will definitely be making this again and again!

This recipe is excellent! The only changes I made where to delete the Green Pepper and roast the Sweet Red Pepper. Both due to food allergies.

Easy and delish. I pressure cooked the chicken while the veggies cooked and I used the hot Rotel for extra spice. Husband and daughter were impressed.

Great tasting and no added salt. I made it with tuna instead of chicken and that was good too!

We love King Ranch Casserole but it's very high in calories and fat--this is even better, and is healthy!

This was great! I didn't have any celery on hand, so had to omit that. I also used a 14 oz can of tomatoes and green chilies (instead of 10 oz). My whole family liked it! It has some kick to it too! We have a lot left over, too. It makes a large amount. Good if you need take a meal to a family who likes Mexican food.

A very tasty addition to my recipe book. Although I made it with the green chilles we decided next time to use jalepenos for more of a kick. Easy to make with ingredients I usually have on hand. Will definitely make it again. Good for feeding hungry teenagers.

I made this tonight and everyone loved it. I had left over cooked chicken in the fridge so this was the perfect dish to use it up. I only used on celery and half a pepper because the kids won't eat green things and I pretty much doubled everything else. I used an 11x14 baking dish to cook it. Recipe fed 17 people. I will used it again for sure.
