Quick Homemade CroutonsI hate to waste the heel from a loaf of bread or a few leftover hot dog or hamburger buns. So I cube them into a bowl, spray them with nonstick cooking spray and season with garlic powder, parsley and basil or oregano. Then I bake them on a cookie sheet at 250° until they’re crisp and brown. My family loves the quick homemade croutons. —Nancy C., Windermere, Florida

I couldn't find chili sauce. When I googled chili sauce, hot sauce came up as synonymous. I used hot sauce. OMG!!! It was TOO HOT!!! Unbelievable!

I have tried dozens of sloppy joe recipes during my sixty five years, and this is the best! I am throwing away all the other tried and failed recipes. This is the one I've been looking for.

I made this for my husband and boys, but I didn't have any chili sauce so I put in 1 and 1/2 cups ketchup and about 2 1/2 to 3 TBS of chili powder and they loved it. next time will have to try with the chili sauce.

I added garlic powder, used onion powder instead of the onions and left the vinegar out by mistake. It was delicious! Will make again. Even my 5 year old liked it.

These were the best sloppy joes I have ever made. This is the one recipe I have been looking for! I used 1-1/2 pounds ground beef and added 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce.I cooked them in my slow cooker on low for 2-3 hours after browning the meat and vegetables in a skillet.I ate 2 sandwiches and I have never done that with sloppy joes before-Hubby had three. I will make these many more times-thank you!
