My potato salad is so easy, I can quickly put it together in the kitchen of our trailer home on the lake. I've shared the recipe with our three daughters, and it's become a signature dish with all of them. Our grandchildren eat it up.

Sorry, I meant to also include I used Marie's Roasted French Onion Dip (which had a sort of light brown tint to the coloring). I wasn't able to find the 8 oz. container of dip so I had to eyeball the amount.
I made this recipe for my Mom & she really liked it a lot! It's got an interesting combination of flavors & is visually a very appealing dish as well. The only alterations I made to the recipe were: the addition of 2 stalks of chopped celery & the substitution of sweet pickle relish for the dill relish. I felt the addition of the celery really complimented this dish & gave it a little crunch. I don't think the relish substitution actually added or detracted from the overall taste. It just didn't seem to have much of an effect so I think you could probably go with your personal perference on that ingredient. The dill relish will probably make it tangier. The only thing I think I would change when I make it again is possibly to cut back on the salt. Thanks for the new twist on a classic!!

It was easy but disappointing. I think the dill relish made it bitter. I thought the bacon with the french onion dip was interesting but both my husband and I didn't care for it.

In a pinch if I don't have tangy dill pickle relish I finely dice dill pickles. Works just as well.

What is dill pickle relish? I don't think I've ever seen it in the stores. All I ever buy and use is sweet pickle relish.

Has anyone ever tried this recipe with sweet relish?

Hi: SAW YOUR COMMENTS ON THIS POTATO SALAD ....You said you used 1/2 mayo and 1/2 sour cream? Was this in place of the French Onion Dip? Or just added to the recipe? Thanks !

This recipe is excellent. I just tried making it with a small amount of 1/2 mayo & 1/2 sour cream. This gives it an even better texture & layers on even more flavor. The family seems to love it so I'm sure I'll be trying it again!familygirlSmithtown, NY
