Great idea! I love that there is no MSG but a little concerned about all the sodium (salt plus boullion granules). I plan to reduce the salt and process in the blender to create a more emulsified, powdered product. Eager to try.

Thank you for this recipe; can't wait to try it. I dislike the packaged seasoning blends because of the MSG and all the other questionable ingredients. Much healthier alternative!

Wow, home made taco seasoning. The package ones just never taste right. As a kid I use to watch my grandma make the seasoning. I can remember she use real garlic, onion, and she crushed whole black pepper along with the onion and garic then she added water and a couple other spices and crushed it some more then she added it to the meat while the meat was cooking. I remember the aroma just filled the air if you were close by and you would just float through the air following the aroma to the sorce. I would eat those tacos even if I wasn't hungry. All those store bought packages taste like they are a mutation of the real thing.

MICHIGANGIRL - Use advanced recipe search and check the low sodium option. This will keep you from coming across recipes that are not good for "YOUR" diet. Karen Owens shared this recipe as a money saver. She achieved just that and it is equivalent to the sodium content in package mix. The nutritional facts above include the ground beef.
