Sweet Apple Crumble
Her family's favorite ingredients inspired Tina Bentley of Houlton, Maine to create this sweet treat.
2 Servings
Prep: 15 min. Bake: 25 min.
Ingredients
1 cup chopped peeled tart apples
1-1/2 teaspoons water
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon butter
TOPPING:
3 tablespoons semisweet chocolate chips
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons old-fashioned oats
2 tablespoons peanut butter
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Vanilla ice cream, optional
Directions
In a bowl, combine apples, water, lemon juice and cinnamon. Spoon
into a 1-qt. baking dish coated with cooking spray. Dot with butter.
For topping, combine the chocolate chips, brown sugar, oats, peanut
butter, flour and cinnamon; crumble over apple mixture. Bake,
uncovered, at 350° for 25-30 minutes or until apples are tender.
Serve warm with ice cream if desired. Yield: 2 servings.
