This dip is ok, but the tomatoes and sour cream make a tanginess that's a little out of place. There was a recommendation to axe the sour cream and use all cream cheese; I'd probably try that before making the original recipe.

Love this dip. I, too found it and tried it for Superbowl. Everyone loved it. Since then I've made it for Easter and also this weekend "just because." Everyone enjoys this dip. The receipe didn't specify, but I use hot italian sausage when I make it. Thanks for a great recipe!

We look forward to this (full fat) dish once a year on Super Bowl Sunday. The only thing we do differently is subbing in Italian or Mexican sausage for the bulk pork - just squeeze it out and go from there.

I make a recipe similar also. I use 1lb of hot pork sausage, 1 1/2 (12oz) Philadelphia cream cheese and 1 can of Rotel Tomatoes. Service with tortilla chips. I have gotten many rave reviews. This way is easier than this recipe.

Everyone loved this at my son's birthday party. You totally can cheat and use a can of Rotel diced tomatoes and green chilies instead of chopping up your own tomatoes. I really don't think anyone would know.

This is the first appetizer that goes at our Christmas parties.

Karen,

Rotel is a brand name of diced tomatoes that have chilies in them. You can find them where you find other diced tomatoes. They are great.
