Meet the Cook: For years, this salad has been a "must" at family dinners and special occasions. It's as pretty as it is good, so it's nice for serving at holiday feasts besides. My husband and I have three children, all grown, and a granddaughter. -Janet England, Chillicothe, Missouri

Definitely a keeper ~~ soooo glad to find this recipe. Am always proud to take this salad to Independence Day get-togethers.

This is one of my favorite gelatin salads! I use a bit less water in both the top and bottom layers to help it firm up a bit more. Sometimes I double the bottom layer to even it out with the thicker top layer that has fruit in it.
