I always wanted to make a Trifle and when I stumbled upon this one I decided to make it on the spot. However I only had canned cherries and no grated orange peel so I used Grand Marnier in its place. It was easy to make and so delicious that my husband had seconds right away. Will try it with the strawberries the next time but I believe you can used any fruit in its place. I can see how you won 1st price!

easy to make, nice flavor and not super sweet. the orange peel is a great complement to the sweetness of the strawberries. it's become a favorite at our spring/summer gatherings

this was delicious! i used a yellow cake(from a mix) instead of angel food. i think next time i might put some of the cream at the bottom. But really good flavor.
