It was so easy. Used a 1.5 box of sugar free instant vanilla pudding. Made this as a 'birthday cake' for my sister. My husband and brother-in-law couldn't stop eating it!!! Definitely a keeper.

Made this for visiting friends with children. All gone quickly! I also soaked sliced bananas in lemon juice & added them. Used the Cool Whip tub to save time. The sour cream was lovely, not too tart. Think this would be great on July 4th - red strawberries & blue blueberries. This easily served 6+ people.

WONDERFUL recipe! I liked it even better the 2nd day. I sent a serving to my mother-in-law and her roommate at the nursing home. They loved it. My son (27) said, "Mom, this is bangin'"!!! KEEPER!

This is, hands down, a 10 star PLUS recipe. My only complaint is once it's gone, it's gone and I can't have anymore!!!! :( I much prefer desserts like this over the chocolate ones. Thank you so much for this recipe. Need I tell you again how good it is?!

What a beautiful presentation this dessert made and it was delicious as well! Only change I made was to use one 8 oz. tub of cool whip in place of the whipping cream. Real easy to make and was gone in no time.

Huge hit at my daughter and son's college graduation party. I made a middle layer with blueberries and blackberries, just for variety. I had to hide the leftovers to keep them for myself! Creamy, tangy (due to sour cream), but light and fruity. I will certainly make this again. Thank you for sharing.

I made this dessert for a cookout we were invited to. I forgot to "whip" the cream, but it still turned out well. I got the bowl back empty! Next time ... I'll not make it at 1am because I can't sleep :)

LOVE THIS RECIPE. THE ONLY THING I DID DIFFERENT WAS USE CHEESECAKE INSTANT PUDDING INSTEAD OF VANILLA.

Was very good an would definitely make again. Instead of angel food cake I made a sour cream pound cake and I used 1 carton of whipped topping instead of heavy cream maybe a little more work but very good

I used cool whip & added some pineapple tidbits to the pudding, also used vanilla yogurt instead of the sour cream, added coconut the top of the dessert. Easy and light, will definately make again.

I made this for Easter and my family loved it. I didn't have any heavy whipping cream so I substituted regular whipped cream in with the pudding mixture. Very yummy!. Would make again.

Absolutely delicious! I chose to use pound cake (Sour Cream Pound Cake recipe, available on this site) and just love the dessert. I have not used orange peel very often in the past but this gives the recipe a delightful twist! Go ahead and try it!

I have made this for 3 different events I was invited to. Everyone LOVES it! The only thing I changed is I replaced sour cream with yogurt (you can really use any flavor you want). The last time I made it, I drained a can of crushed pineapples and mixed it with the pudding/yogurt. I didn't have fresh strawberries so I used strawberry pie filling instead. I top with pecans and toasted coconut. I like that you can make it as is or change it up with the pudding flavor and fruit.

Super yummy!!! The kids at my youth group devoured it. I followed cheryl.a.s's suggestion of replacing plain yogurt for the sour cream and using light cool whip. The trifle has a delicate lemon flavor as a result of the yogurt. Definitely a five star dessert!!

To cut some calories and suit my husband's tastes, I swapped the sour cream for plain nonfat yogurt and the heavy whipping cream for light cool whip. Everyone loved it guilt free!
I made this dessert for a summer dinner party and everyone loved it. My husband does not eat sour cream, so I used nonfat plain yogurt. I also folded lite cool whip into the pudding instead of heavy whipping cream. It took down some calories and was still delicious!

I always wanted to make a Trifle and when I stumbled upon this one I decided to make it on the spot. However I only had canned cherries and no grated orange peel so I used Grand Marnier in its place. It was easy to make and so delicious that my husband had seconds right away. Will try it with the strawberries the next time but I believe you can used any fruit in its place. I can see how you won 1st price!
