My family fell in love with the combination of sweet and spicy in this potato side dish the very first time they tried it. It goes great with poultry...and looks so pretty on the dinner table. I try to serve it often. Lynn Thomas London, Ontario

Double yum! I varied the coating a little to suit us. I halved the recipe except for the brown sugar and olive oil. I kept these at 2 T each. Baked on a foil-lined pan uncovered at 350 because I had a pork roast cooking at the same time. Cooking time was about 50 minutes. Cubes were browned, crispy on the outside but tender inside. Sweet/spicy. Excellent!

Pretty decent for a non-sweet recipe using sweet potatoes. I'm just not fond of sweet potatoes in any form other than sweetened and in custard or pie form. Having tried a huge range of recipes to try out on my sweet potato harvest, I came to this realization since I didn't like any of them that weren't sweetened.

We've been enjoying this dish since I found it in the magazine in 2001. I do increase the brown sugar and chili powder a little because we like highly flavored, but not extra hot, food. Thanks so much for sharing this fabulous recipe.

These are awesome. My husband doesn't care for sweet potatoes, but this is his new favorite food. Delicious!

The first time I made this I inadvertently left out the brown sugar. They were still delicious! Next time I'll try them with the brown sugar.

My husband doesn't like candied sweet potatoes so I have been looking for a different recipe and he loved this!

My family really enjoyed this dish, even the kids. I did cut out half of the cayenne just to make sure that my kids would eat it. It still had a little kick. I will definitely make this again.

I found the sweet and spicy combination very appealing. Hubby didn't like it at all. I'll just make a small batch for myself from now on.

I've only recently gotten into sweet potatoes. When I've tried them in the past I didn't care for them. This recipe has made me a fan. I'm going to be looking for more sweet potato recipe's - maybe even a sweet potato pie!

This was ok. My dad and sister both like this dish but my mom said it was too spicy.

We love these sweet potatoes! We only use about 1/2 as much cayenne because we don't like spicy food. I have made these several times for Thanks Giving in place of the usual Candied Sweet Potatoes and they have been well received.

I have been making this recipe for many years. It is so good! My husband, who only likes sweet potatoes in a very sweet casserole, also likes these.
