Spicy Island Shrimp Recipe

Spicy Island Shrimp Recipe Spicy Island Shrimp Recipe photo by Taste of Home Rating 5

My husband got this recipe while he was living on St. Croix Island. We've served the zippy shrimp dish on several holiday occasions. I'm amazed at how even those who claim not to care for shrimp come out of their shells and devour them when they're prepared this way! -Teresa Methe, Minden, Nebraska

This has to be one our absolute favorite recipes EVER in our house. I take out a portion for my kids before I add the white and cayenne pepper (too spicy for them yet and 6 & 5) add a litte ketchup to their version and they eat it right up! Of course my husband and I LOVE the full spicy version. SO GOOD!

Great recipe. I just recently realized that I love shrimp recipes. I don't like green pepper though & used red instead. I cut the recipe in 1/2 & it was at least 4 servings. Definitely a keeper

One of my favorite shrimp recipes yet. So easy to make and has an awesome flavor. Will cut back on the peppers for my daughter, as I think it is too spicy for her.

Sorry folks my reviews were for the shrimp Newburg, I haven't tried the spicy Island shrimp yet. It was the next recipe I was going to try. Sorry !

In my previous review I forgot to add that I did use the cream of mushroom soup and added 1 tsp. of Old Bay and also some H.E.B. Texas Originals blackened seasoning spice blend sprinkled on to add extra flavor. It did not taste spicy but flavorful.

I tried this recipe tonight for a light dinner. i was pleasantly surprised at how easy and really good this tasted ! My husband and daughter both said it was a dish they would request again ! I cook all my meals at home with an occasional meal out, so I am always happy to find a new addition to our menu. I am from a coastal town so seafood is always plentiful and new recipes are greatly appreciated ! Thank you for sharing your recipe.

My family loved this recipe. Just a little too spicy for my kids. Next time I will reduce the cayanne.

We love this recipe. It is easy to make and tastes great. I didn't change a thing. Even my daughter, who doesn't care for seafood loves this one. It's definitely a keeper.
