I've made this hearty soup many times. Everyone loves it. I follow the recipe exactly, and get requests for the soup regularly.

This reminds me of the receipt below. The 2nd time I made, it I added canned vegetables to it and turned in into a very hardy vegetable soup. Spicy Potato Soup1 lb Ground beef4 c Cubed, peeled potatoes (1/2 inch cubes)1 sm Onion, chopped3 cn (8 oz. ea) tomato sauce4 c Water2 ts Salt1 1/2 ts Pepper1/2 ts (to 1 ts) hot pepper sauceIn a Dutch oven or large kettle, brown ground beef. Drain. Add potatoes, onion and tomato sauce. Stir in water, salt, pepper and hot pepper sauce; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour or until the potatoes are tender and the soup has thickened. Yield: 2 quarts.

This sounds like it would be great with a homemade soda cracker. If anyone has a recipe for these I am looking for one for my mom, who is 86 years old and has been looking for a recipe for a homemade soda cracker for years. Please can someone help me find this for her??? Thank-you in advance.

This is my favorite Taste of Home recipe. It is so addictive.I add extra jalapenoes with seeds, to add more spice. I usually eat this with doritoes.
