This creamy soup brings my family to the table in a hurry. I love the warming zip of cayenne, but it also tastes terrific without it if you like milder flavor. With a few simple side dishes, this soup is a full meal.

I love this stuff. Sometimes, I omit the cayenne (for the kids), but I make sure to put extra in my husband and I's soup. YUM

Yum, yum, yum! I think my hubby fell in love with me all over again after making this hearty soup. I used ground turkey and turkey bacon. I forgot to add the beef bouillon granules. I didn't have grease from the bacon to add since it was turkey. I used two cans of rotel tomatoes also. I can hardly imagine what the recipe would taste like with hamburger and real bacon. Note: adding 1.5 cups of water in the first step isn't enough. I simply added enough water to boil. Once boiled I drained then added the 1.5 cup of water.

This has become one of my most favorite soup recipes. Living in the southwest, my family loves spicy foods - & this one fits our tastes perfectly! Lots & lots of flavor! One of those rare recipes that I follow exactly without any substitutions. I've found that 1/2 teaspoon of the cayenne pepper is just right for our tastes. Start with a small amount as you can always add more if needed.

I have made this before when I first got the book that it came in. I had since lost the book and my son has been asking. I was so happy that I found it here. It is so good and inexpensive to make.

Loved the soup. I didn't have a jalapeno pepper or caynene pepper so I added a can of RoiTel and it was perfect!

This is one recipe that I have made that everyone who tries it simply raves about. Our family always requests that I make a double batch so everyone can have a large helping. We recently had a family reunion and had a book to write comments about the reunion and about two thirds of the people wrote how good the soup was. The cayenne pepper really makes the soup pop.

I made this soup again tonight. We all love it. I have been making it for about 10 years. But I got a huge shock when I finally looked at the nutritional information. In one cup of soup, could there possible be 74 grams of fat? Is it possible?
