Since you "dump" all the ingredients together for these brownies, they take very little time to prepare. There's no mistaking the homemade goodness of a freshly baked batch—they are rich and fudgy! —Diane Heier, Harwood, North Dakota

These are delicious, maybe even better than the boxed mix! And they're so easy! To cut down (slightly) on the calories, I used 3 whole eggs and 2 egg whites in place of the 5 whole eggs, and the texture was still deliciously chewy and moist. So good!

I needed to make something for a gathering and decided to try these. They were a hit and I came home with an empty pan!

Made these today, as I had all the ingredients in the house, for my grandson & friends. They came together within no time, but I used mini-chips & it took away from the appearance, the regular ones on the picture show. Don't use the mini ones as they don't look as appealing as the regular size ones do. Will definitely make again, but use the different chips, as stated. Thanks Diane, for the great recipe.

Just finished making these. Certainly easy enough! Are you sure there is no baking soda or baking powder to add?? Please advise.

I'm not sure how many stars I gave it (my computer is omitting the pic), but it should be 5 stars. An AMAZING recipe-it truly was quick, not to mention delicious. I was a little skeptical, since I ran out of white flour and had to use whole wheat. Also, I substituted melted butter for the canola oil. Despite all that, it was amazing! It bordered on the "chocolate cake" texture. Oh, and it came out of the pan super easy! I mean, all I did was put the knife in a liiiiitttlee and pop-out comes the brownie! Anyways, all in all, great recipe, I'm definitely making it again.

I have made these brownies several times and have shared the recipe with others as it is always requested. Simple and fast to prepare, a true go to recipe when you need something quick and easy.

I haven't made this recipe yet, but I am going to try it. I am wondering if you can use egg whites for the 5 regular eggs? I am trying to reduce calories and fat as much as can be done. Please advise

I substituted 1 cup of apple sauce for the 1 cup of oil and the brownies came out perfect. I used a smaller pan (Perfect Brownie pan) and the chocolate chips sunk to the bottom and made a yummy gooey mess. I just flipped the brownies over and smoothed out the top and it made almost like a frosting. :o) I will use the 13x9 pan next time and see if the chips sink to the bottom. I think there were just too many chips for the size pan that I used. But to those looking for a way to reduce the fat in this recipe, the applesauce worked great. I gave the recipe 4 stars only because it has too much fat for me and one can use applesauce and they taste great.

I was very impressed with this recipe! Not only were the ingredients ready-at-hand, but they were also very moist when I made them the first time! One variation I have made that was HUGELY successful, was to substitute the 1 cup of oil with 1 cup on Irish cream. If you are wondering how I ended up trying this, I didn't have enough oil, so I decided I'd give it a go! :)I highly recommend this recipe to anyone!

Very good! Just like someone else mentioned, you can put other chips on top. I usually go with peanut butter chips. The white chocolate sounds really good too though. Maybe next time I'll give those a shot.

Awesome! Have been making these brownies since they came out in the Premier Issue. My husband especially loves them because they stay moist so long. With only two eating, they don't go so fast. Always take them to potlucks, come home with an empty pan. Really colorful with baking M & Ms. Kids love them.

I found that this was a very good recipe and I used white chocolate chips which helped balance out the chocolate. You could also put in peanut butter chips or mint chips in.
