This recipe is very popular here in the South. It's a particular favorite at our house because we always have plenty of sweet potatoes in our garden. Try it with a dollop of whipped cream. —Bonnie Holcomb, Fulton, Mississippi

This recipe looked so simple that I thought I would try it since this is my oldest grandson's favorite dessert. It was certainly not that good and no, I would not ever make it again. Will stick with my tried and true recipe that my grandson requests every Christmas or holiday that he spends with us.

This was the best sweet potato pie that I've ever eaten. I'll never try another recipe again.

This turned out wonderfully! Not too sweet. I was not sure when to add in the dry ingredients since that step was missing in the recipe.

I have search for this taste for years!!! I was thrown by the use of PET milk and syrup, but this is the best ever!!! After my family demolished the first one I was obligated to make 3 more, one for each family to take home after Thanksgiving dinner. I will carry this recipe on in my archives to pass to my daughter. Loved it !!!

This is the most delicious Sweet Potato Pie I have had EVER had!!! I have been looking for a recipe that tatsted like or similar to my mother in-laws and this is the Bomb!!! Will never be envious of her pie again.I now have my own delicious recipe that is 100% better than hers. I always have to make 2 because over the course of the week, I eat 1 all by myself :-) I took one to work and everyone ranted and raved about it even a friend who hates sweet potatos. They ask when am I going to make another Sweet Potato Pie??? This is THEE ONE!!!

Great recipe! My husband LOVED it, and he doesn't like pies in general. I did omit the nutmeg but instead added 1/2 t allspice and 1 t cinnamon. Really good! I like the reviewer's idea about rum extract. I will try that in the next pie. Definitely a keeper!

It was a easy pie to make. A little sweet to me but for my first sweet potato pie it was good. I'm sure I'll make it again. It was well liked by family.
