Charles Smith relies of a bread machine to mix the dough for these buttery golden breadsticks that are mildly seasoned with garlic and basil. "I like to use this dough when making pizza, too," says the Baltic, Connecticut reader. "It makes two 12-inch crusts."

this recipe is a winner! Put some in freezer and took them out and let them defrost on the counter. Great with our tortellini soup. Try them,so easy.

These turned out great! It made more than we needed for one meal, so I left some unbuttered, reheated them in the oven, and buttered them then. They were still very good.

I have been looking for a good recipe that tast like the Olive Garden's breadsticks and this is it. My family just loved them, I will be making them with our chicken alfredo for now on. Wonderful!

This sounds easy and delicious! I haven't made them yet, but I am looking for an easy recipe for a crowd. Someone mentioned freezing them. Would you freeze them before or after baking? Probably a stupid question, but I don't bake often.

We love these! I use it to make pizza dough a lot. But I do a tad less sugar and basil. Great!

We absolutely love this recipe! We like them dipped in Alfredo sauce with every Italian meal we make. They taste so much like Olive Garden's that it's amazing. When I pull the breadsticks out of the oven, I brush them with butter and then sprinkle with garlic salt. Wonderful!

These are AWESOME! My kids and husband licked their plates clean with these tasty sticks! Our family loves garlic so I doubled it, and it was fantastic! Thanks for adding another outstanding addition to my kitchens arsenal of delicious sides!

Very versatile bread sticks. Kids love them plain or dipped in pizza sauce or ranch dip.
