Soft 'n' Chewy Caramels Recipe

Rating 5

This candy is a "must" at our house for Christmas. We raised four children on nutritious meals made of simple ingredients. Now I enjoy making special treats like this for the grandkids.—Darlene Edinger, Turtle Lake, North Dakota

This replaces a family recipe we have used for 30 years. Soft yet firm and now a family favorite for the holidays and great for wrapping around an apple. A must to have in your recipe folder.

I have made this recipe soooo many times. I even sold it at a craft show where it was requested the next year! My family loves these candies.

Suggest 1/2 & 1/2 white/brown sugar. Substitue sweetened condensed milk for cream.
