  • 1-1/2 cups coarsely chopped walnuts

I just attempted this recipe, the chocolate chips wouldn't melt. So, I was left w/ gritty chocolate that I couldn't smooth. Any ideas where I might've went wrong? I remember making this all the time when I was in highschool. I used milk chocolate instead of semi-sweet. Help!

My sister-in-law told me about this recipe first then I found it here. So simple to make and while it is a little rich, it is very tasty. Would make a great gift to make for any occasion! I will be making this recipe again!

All these years I never knew there were crakcers in the candy!  As I read though some of the recipes we used to eat as kids, there's some odd stuff in them... but it always tasted SOOO good!!!!  Miss the farm.

I make a similar recipe that was given to me by my Grandma when I was young. She used to make them for all us grandkids around the 4th of July and at Christmas. They really are great!

I have had a similar recipe that I have made for years. My second son makes them all the time. We call them Heath bars and instead of soda crackers, we use club crackers. We also skip the nuts. It is everyone's favorite and so easy and quick to make!!

This is the best thing since chocolate covered pretzels! I make them for "gameday" pitch-ins. You can't eat just one!
