What a shame that the only bad reviews are by people who haven't even tried this recipe. Looks like a great recipe...think I'll make it for our next potluck. Notice: I'm not including a rating because I HAVEN'T TRIED IT YET.

I would never make this dish because of the sodium content. We are talking seven cans of beans that salty, three lbs of bacon one and a half catsup the nutriiiitional facts cannot be right, oh forgot the sausage, loaded with salt.

To 1DCOL I believe you missed the line that says FOUR 13x9 dishes.

HOW DID YOU GET ALL THAT IN A 9 X 13 DISH ?? SOUNDS LIKE A CROCK

I have been making this recipe for over 20 years. The only change is I use ground beef instead of the sausages. Everyone loves it! It even makes a nice one dish meal.

I would like this recipe stated to serve 4- 12 servings, not 90-95!

The full recipe makes for a hell of a lot of beans, but the cut down is just below. If you go the 'whole 9 yards' this freezes very well for future use.

I 've been making this for years(smaller quantities) and there is never any left! Better even the second day!

These beans are the BEST! For anyone who is interested in a smaller version, here it is: 1/2 lb bacon, 1/2 onion, 1 28oz can baked beans, 1 16oz can kidney beans, 1 16oz can butter beans (lima beans), 1/2 pound sausages, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup catsup, 1/4 cup cider vinegar, 1/2 teaspoon each garlic powder & dry mustard. This makes about 11-12 cups of beans and fits in a 9x9 square pan. I used my glass casserole for nicer presentation. Make this dish for your next B-B-Q and all bean lovers will want to marry you! ;)
