I don't recall where I first found this recipe, but it's been a favorite in our household for over 40 years. Our nine children now make it in their homes, too. I like to serve this dish as a main course with cabbage salad, but it works well on a brunch menu, too.

I made then and was a little hesitant with the brown sugar and pineapples bing mixed with beef broth and tomatoes and my family and I love it! It has the perfect combo of flavors with all the different ingredients!

Very good! I liked this recipe better than than Polynesian Sausage Supper on this site. I added a little soy sauce, cider vinegar and ground ginger to jazz it up a bit and used 16 oz smoked sausage. Served over the rice with King Hawaiian Rolls. Everyone enjoyed it and it's very easy and fast , also economical. Great for a weeknight, will make again! Thanks for the recipe!

This was good. I used the leftover with the rice to make into soup. Just threw it all into a pot of beef broth, and it was pretty tasty.

we liked this and used smoked turkey sausage, however next time we would leave out the tomatoes and perhaps exchange the beef broth for chicken broth and maybe use water chestnuts instead of the pineapple
