When I have leftover ham in the fridge, I always like to make this soup. Just throw the ingredients in the slow cooker, turn it on and dinner is done. —Pamela Chambers, West Columbia, South Carolina

Easy and so good. made a batch for myself and father since husband and kids will not eat split pea soup- dad made a specific phone call back to me to tell me the soup was excellent. Would definitely make this again.

This is an easy, hearty soup and tastes delicious. Wouldn't change a thing in the recipe. Bought some pre-diced vacuum-packed ham to use. Wonderful for a cold winter's supper. Will be making it often.

This is excellent! I added a couple diced potatoes, a dash of Penzy's Shallot Pepper and pinch of sea salt. I also used 3 cups of water. In place of the cooked ham I used 3 small boneless smoked pork chops.

Give this one a try, you won't be sorry!
