No more standing and stirring at the stove. This creamy Stroganoff preps in a skillet, then cooks all day while you’re away. —Sarah C. Vasques, Milford, New Hampshire

Wonderful recipe and tastes great with mashed potatoes! I didn't care as much for it with the noodles. I would recommend adding a can of cream of mushroom to this prior to serving as it is a little on the runny side. Makes for a delicious gravy on mashed potatoes :)

I admit it tasted better than it looked, but for guests, it didn't make a good presentation.

We loved this....even my picky 15 year old stepson who doesn't like onions or mushrooms. I used a shoulder roast that I had on hand. It cooked up so tender and delicious! Thanks for the recipe. All agree it is a keeper.

This was really good. My husband was hungry for beef and noodles, so I didn't end up doing the stroganoff with the sour cream. I used the slow cooker beef stew mix and low sodium beef broth. I sauteed an onion with the mushrooms. I cooked Amish noodles in beef broth and served the beef mixture over noodles and mashed potatoes. True winter comfort food!

I made this for the first time tonight - I substituted the beef for venison cut in bite size chunks, and the 1/4 beef or wine for apple cider. My husband is a booger about trying new foods - but he tried this, and liked it so much he said "yeah, you could make it again." I'm very excited about the leftovers.

I have substituted blackberry wine for the port wine and then I don't add sugar. This is amazingly good! YUM!

Made this tonight and it was great! Was especially good with my homemade bread. Meat was tender, sauce flavorful. We served with rice as my husband likes rice better than noodles.

This is one of the easiest and best tasting stroganoff recipes I've ever made. I use the beef broth instead of the wine and only add one 8oz. container of sour cream and it is still delish....try it

My family loved this recipe. I did end up adding about 1/2 cup more of the beef broth after it had been cooking for about 3 hours. It looked a little dry to me and didn't think it could take another 3 hours of simmering without adding more liquid. It worked out perfectly. Last 30 minutes (while I was cooking the noodles) I stirred in the sour cream and turned off the slow cooker.

My family loved it. Never found 'stroganoff seasoning for the slow cooker', just used a normal stroganoff seasoning.

I'm not a fan of stroganoff, but my family loved it :)

pretty good... I had a difficult time finding an envelope of seasoning. I'd make it again, but it's not at the top of my slow-cooker list.

I found this recipe to be simple and very delicious. I couldn't find the beef stroganoff seasoning for slow cookers so I just bought the McCormick's version of seasoning for beef stroganoff and it was great. Hope you give it a try, I know I'll be making it again soon.

P.S. ~~~ I would really like to know "What Contest" this recipe won????
I thought making Beef Stroganoff in my small dead-end galley kitchen the first week in August would be wonderful! (Added bonus++steak was on sale!) I had never used the packaged seasoning and will never use it again!! The taste was too 'flour-y' and 'pasty'! I tried Worcestershire sauce and gigantic amounts of pepper to try and mask the offensive 'flour-y' taste, and stopped short of using an entire bottles of ketchup and mustard! It was also done before 6 hours. My hunt is still on to find a slow cooker recipe for Beef Stroganoff so I can enjoy it in the Muggy Month of August!
