No more standing and stirring at the stove. This creamy Stroganoff preps in a skillet, then cooks all day while you’re away. —Sarah C. Vasques, Milford, New Hampshire

Wonderful recipe and tastes great with mashed potatoes! I didn't care as much for it with the noodles. I would recommend adding a can of cream of mushroom to this prior to serving as it is a little on the runny side. Makes for a delicious gravy on mashed potatoes :)

I admit it tasted better than it looked, but for guests, it didn't make a good presentation.

We loved this....even my picky 15 year old stepson who doesn't like onions or mushrooms. I used a shoulder roast that I had on hand. It cooked up so tender and delicious! Thanks for the recipe. All agree it is a keeper.

This was really good. My husband was hungry for beef and noodles, so I didn't end up doing the stroganoff with the sour cream. I used the slow cooker beef stew mix and low sodium beef broth. I sauteed an onion with the mushrooms. I cooked Amish noodles in beef broth and served the beef mixture over noodles and mashed potatoes. True winter comfort food!

I made this for the first time tonight - I substituted the beef for venison cut in bite size chunks, and the 1/4 beef or wine for apple cider. My husband is a booger about trying new foods - but he tried this, and liked it so much he said "yeah, you could make it again." I'm very excited about the leftovers.

I have substituted blackberry wine for the port wine and then I don't add sugar. This is amazingly good! YUM!
