I used chuck roast, sliced and fat removed -cooked it 8 hours. It was delicious even with lite sour cream and served over rice or noodles.

Beef stroganoff is my favorite comfort food dinner. This is the only stroganoff recipe I use since trying it from a Taste of Home slow cooker magazine several years ago. The recipe is simple and makes the best stroganoff. I prepare the ingredients in my slow-cooker the evening before and store in the refrigerator overnight. I pop the the crock in the slow-cooker in the morning. My husband boils the noodles when he gets home and dinner is done when I walk in the door.

This sounds like the 'real thing'!! After the failed "Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff" recipe from Taste of Home Aug-Sept 2010, this has to be a winner!! It looks similar to the recipe for the stove-top version, minus the soup!!Hurrah!!!
