I only use venison so some recipes don't convert over as well but with this one, the meat was very tender and tasty and when you add this excellent gravy it was a hit with entire family. Its going to be my go-to pot roast meal from now on.

This recipe was fabulous! I added Potato's & Carrots as well for a more complete meal, and I seasoned it with mrs. dash original seasoning mix flavor. The gravy was excellent, meat was extremely tender and there was nothing left over. Even made the mother-in-law brag about how delicious it was!

Great, easy recipe. My husband requests it often. I add potatoes and carrots for a full meal.

This can't be a picture of this recipe. There are no mushrooms in this recipe, but I see mushrooms prominent in the photo. Hmmm.

When I was dishing this out, I thought, 'hey, there's no herbs in this', but I'd tasted the juices after it had cooked 3 hours and it was very good then. I used garlic powder instead of minced garlic, low-sodium soy sauce, and cooked it on high for 6 hours. Our handyman raved about the flavor and my husband liked it, too. He said I'm blessed to find good recipes fairly often and they're mostly from Taste of Home.

It seemed to be missing seasonings. I only had low sodium soy sauce, would regular soy have made the difference? I would make it again if I can figure out what spices and/or herbs would enhance it.

This wonderful roast opened our fall season last October. Daughter and family came out for the day. I had roast left but NO potatoes and gravy. Delicious
