This is one of those recipes that cooks love because it's quick, easy and inexpensive. Brown sugar adds a touch of sweetness. In addition to rolls, the beef mixture is tasty over rice, biscuits or baked potatoes.

Quick Homemade CroutonsI hate to waste the heel from a loaf of bread or a few leftover hot dog or hamburger buns. So I cube them into a bowl, spray them with nonstick cooking spray and season with garlic powder, parsley and basil or oregano. Then I bake them on a cookie sheet at 250° until they’re crisp and brown. My family loves the quick homemade croutons. —Nancy C., Windermere, Florida

I grew up eating sloppy joes out of a can. Never was a fan. I also never knew how easy sloppy joes from scratch could be! This recipe is an amazing hit with my children! Definitely the best sloppy joes ever. I have tried a couple of other recipes, but this one is the true-tale favorite.

I've made this recipe multiple times and it's always a hit! However, I have altered it - even the first time I made it. Instead of garlic/onion powder I use fresh chopped onion and fresh garlic. This recipe is AMAZING with ground elk - the BEST sloppy joe's ever!
