I usually keep a can of sloppy joe sauce in the pantry, because our kids love sloppy joes. But sometimes I don't have buns on hand. With this fun casserole, we can still enjoy the flavor that they love in a flash. The bun-like top crust is made with biscuit mix, sprinkled with sesame seeds and baked until golden. -Trish Bloom, Ray, Michigan

The beef part was very good but was overpowered by the too large amount of bread. Next time I'll use less.

Good concept, turned out perfectly but the taste was a disappointment. Our family isn't the kind that likes everything super hot or spicy but we found this to be very bland. If I wanted to try this again I would have change the seasoning a lot.

My grandchildren love this recipe. So much so, that I double the ingredients to make a larger batch. I do add extra sauce, the kids love the sloppiness of the dish...

I use 2 lbs. of ground turkey and add an additional 1/3 cup of ketchup to the sauce. Evens out the bun to meat ratio. This is my husbands favorite meal. It makes even better leftovers!

Sorry but I am not sure what the raves are about. I thought, after tasting it, that my sloppy joes tasted better IN the bun

Re:Sloppy Joe Under a BunSounds good but I would cut calories by using Red. Fat Bisquick and 2% cheese. I can't wait to make it for church luncheon. thanks PAchef

we have "pot luck" dinners in the winter months while in our park in Fl. This will be on my list to make for one of these dinners - sounds so yummy! Thanks for sharing!

I LOVE this recipe! I've used it for years! It takes the mess out of Sloppy Joes. I can even hide veggies, like bell peppers, onions and carrots, in the hamburger mix. Great recipe!

I do something such as this but instead of sloppy joe I use taco seasoning. After putting into casserole dish I top with lots of cheese and peppers, black olives and biscuit mix. Bake as above. To serve I top each helping with salsa and sour cream. I just call it "southwest bake".
