Loved this. I, too, omitted the egg substitue (a littel pricey to purchase) and used one egg. I have a new slow cooker/crock pot and found this cooked way quicker than the recipe indicates.

Haven't tried this yet, but it sounds like it might be good to omit the potatoes and put it over some short pasta, like penne. Has anyone tried to do that?

This recipe needs to have the salt taken out of it. The sloppy jo sauce makes it plenty salty.

I cooked the beef and mixed up the hash browns last night; refrigerated them; put them together in the slow cooker this morning. My family really liked it! I used the Bold Manwich (for a little extra flavor). I don't know why there was egg substitute in the recipe, forgot to buy some, so just whisked a whole egg and mixed it in. Easy, tasty recipe. When my daughter ate hers, she threw some shredded cheddar and French's french fried onions on top; she said that rocked!

This is one of my favorite recipes. I have used regular eggs without any problems. In the faster cookers we have now, you don't want to be gone too long as the meat will start to burn. The flavor is great.

jenniferneufeldt: I totally agree. I now find myself browsing recipes less and less because of reviews that complain about ingredients, methods, or nutritional content.I dont understand why they look at all either.Some people just have to complain.I just wonder if most know how foolish they sound. I will take nutritional advice and opinion of a nutritionist over someone on a recipe rate and review board!

Yes and I have to agree with another reviewer - if you are looking for only "healthy" recipes then stick to those! and how can you honestly and impartially review a recipe if you have changed basically EVERYTHING ABOUT IT?? Perhaps you should just submit your own recipe and quit tearing these ones apart!

Some people just have to complain about everything! Seriously, if you don't even want to try the recipe without complaining about it, then don't review please. I read these reviews to find out what others have tried differently, or if it was fine the way it is. Really, if you are a health nut, then maybe you should stick with the recipes that are already rated as healthy!

I HAVEN'T MADE THIS BUT ONE PERSON SAID IT HAD TOO MUCH SODIUM AND YOU WOULDN'T HAVE TO PUT IN THE SALT. THERE WOULD BE PLENTY OF SODIUM SAY IN THE CANNED SOUP. THERE IS ALWAYS WAYS YOU CAN CUT DOWN ON THE SODIUM AND FAT IF YOU WANT TO.

This was not my favorite recipe. It was very plain tasting. Though it was easy to make, it just didn't taste very good and I wouldn't recommend it.
