Simmered Smoked Links Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 packages (16 ounces each) miniature smoked sausage links
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup prepared horseradish

Directions

  • Place sausages in a 3-qt. slow cooker. Combine the brown sugar, ketchup and horseradish; pour over sausages. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours. Yield: 16-20 servings.

Nutritional Facts 2 ounces equals 116 calories, 6 g fat (2 g saturated fat), 15 mg cholesterol, 307 mg sodium, 13 g carbohydrate, trace fiber, 3 g protein.

This recipe has been a party dish "go to" for many years now. Always a hit! I don't like horseradish by itself, but I don't taste it in this recipe. And it could not be any easier to throw together. Last weekend I doubled the recipe for a potluck of about 40 people. I took home zero leftovers. YUM!

I was a little worried that the sauce would be overpowered by the horseradish, but other than the smell of horseradish when you open the crockpot lid you really don't taste much horseradish in this.

I love this recipe I fix it for large get togethers and everyone loves them, usually double the recipe so no one is left out.
