Ingredients

  • 1-3/4 pounds ground beef
    XKick-up the flavor

    With Johnsonville Italian Sausage.

  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1-1/4 cups ketchup
  • 1/4 cup dill pickle relish
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1-1/2 cups (6 ounces) shredded process cheese (Velveeta)
  • 12 hamburger buns

Directions

  • In a skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Remove from the heat; stir in the ketchup, relish, salt, basil and pepper. Stir in cheese.
  • Spread meat mixture onto buns. Wrap sandwiches individually in foil and place in a baking pan. Bake at 325° for 15-20 minutes or until cheese is melted. Yield: 12 servings.

Nutritional Facts 1 serving (1 each) equals 310 calories, 12 g fat (5 g saturated fat), 41 mg cholesterol, 902 mg sodium, 32 g carbohydrate, 2 g fiber, 19 g protein.

I would with my changes. Using Italian grated cheese,pecorino,parmesan.Anyway i call this sloppy joes i made these years ago.Iwould mix the meat and make hambugers then call it italian burgers.

sicilian? hmmm my mom use to call it poor mans sloppy joes lol she made this at the end of the week before payday because that is what was left in the house to cook. lol
